During the Summer of 2017, I had the privilege to participate in Wayfair's Labz Development program, a rigorous bootcamp designed for new software engineers entering the company. The program spanned over three months and included two challenging projects that were specifically designed to familiarize the engineers with Wayfair's dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Through the program, I learned how to build a modern React.js web application that leveraged Wayfair's extensive API ecosystem, which was written in PHP. This project enabled me to apply my full-stack development skills and taught me how to consume and integrate with complex back-end systems.
Moreover, Wayfair's emphasis on collaboration and teamwork allowed me to learn their version of Git, Scrum, and Agile methodologies. This experience helped me to better understand how to work with other engineers to deliver high-quality software within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Overall, the Wayfair Labz Development program was an invaluable experience that provided me with a deep understanding of online commerce and taught me crucial technical skills and methodologies that have been instrumental in my career growth as a software engineer.
